Stacey sculpts with reclaimed slate and glass, using the daily and seasonal rhythms of light to evoke a dynamic connection between a work and its environment. Drawing inspiration from the stunning environment surrounding her workshop on the north Cornish coast and childhood in Africa, works are strongly influenced by the natural world and the emotional resonance of colour.
While her sculptures are contemporary in form, the materials are intrinsically linked to their elemental origins. Many pieces also feature found objects or hand-carved inclusions which, in combination with the reclaimed slate, bring together stories of past lives and new beginnings.Each work is unique and cannot be replicated.
Stacey exhibits nationally, has works in collections in the UK and abroad and has been shortlisted for the Wells Art Contemporary and the Ashburner Sculpture Prize.
