Slate needs little maintenance but an occasional application of clear stone wax on the slate and mortar will help retain its maximum tactile appeal and provide protection from the elements.<\/h4>\n<h4>Only non-ferrous metals are used so sculptures will not rust, although metals may develop a patina through exposure to the elements.
